Streamline your workflow

Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) is recommended in the United State Pharmocopoeia (USP) for use in performing total combined mold and yeast counts (Microbial Limits Tests). InTray SAB+PVG prepared plated culture media are general-purpose microbiology devices that allow for simultaneous growth and observation of pathogenic and non-pathogenic fungi, including yeasts and dermatophytes.

For isolation of fungi from potentially contaminated specimens, best practice suggests InTray SAB+PVG should be run in parallel with the non-selective InTray SAB-FungID.

InTray SAB+PVG is slightly inhibitory against bacteria and is designed for sampling a large spectrum of fungal growth. Bacterial inhibition is further enhanced with the introduction of the antibiotics Polymyxin B, Vancomycin and Gentamicin – which is used for samples with suspected high levels of bacterial contamination.

Product Principle
  • Durable injection molded device
  • Highly selective media designed for growth, transport and result
  • Sealed environment with Tyvek® air filtration
  • Resealable media well reduces exposure and contamination
Simple Convenience
  • InTray is designed for specimen collection/ inoculation at point-of-care
  • Saves time, material cost and waste, reducing exposure to collected sample
  • Place directly on the microscope tray for observation through the cassette’s clear anti-fog window
  • Selectively produces distinctive colony growth with typical identifiable morphology
Accurate Detection

Test Strain

A. brasiliensis 16404 Good
C. albicans 10231 Good
S. cerevisiae 9763 Good
T. mentagrophytes 9533 Good
Time to Result
  • 1 -14 days, incubated at 25ºC for positive

Result can be obtained within as little as 18-48 hours (7-14 days for Trichophyton).

  • Extended 12 month shelf life (2-8°C) from the date of manufacture
  • Can tolerate extended periods at controlled room temp (≤ 25˚C), with no loss in performance.
  • Environmental sample
