Position Description

JOB TITLE: Customer Service Representative (CSR)

DEPARTMENT: Sales

REPORTS TO: Customer Service Supervisor

POSITION TYPE: Hourly (non-exempt) Expected to work a minimum of 40 hours a week. The expectation of this position is to be present during business hours 8am-5pm.

POSITION PURPOSE: A CSR is responsible for a combination of customer service and administrative related tasks. Handles customer concerns specifically related to their experience with the products.  Possesses the ability to communicate to customers effectively.  Should have a pleasant and positive attitude when dealing with customers/ employees. The CSR will assist upper management with projects and research when necessary.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Answer phone calls
  • Enter sales orders
  • CRM Management
  • Email Communication
  • Customer Service
  • Assists with projects
  • Help with trade shows when necessary
  • Customer complaint/RMA Handling
  • Contribute in the following duties: promotions, sampling, customer feedback, follow up including some cold calling.
  • Assists with reporting and research involving new customer leads
  • Work directly with Scientific Sales Reps to manage customers.
  • Attendance at all employee meetings
  • Other duties as assigned.

 SUPERVISORY RESONSIBILITIES:

  • No direct reports in this position.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Customer service experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and continued update on new computer software and skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills

Education

MINIMUM EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:     
GED/High school diploma with at least one year working in a customer service environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Associates in Business, Marketing or related field.
